B.A.

As an economics major, you’ll study the individual decisions, public policies, and private interests that shape the world. A Denison economics degree will prepare you for a career in business, finance, government, or the nonprofit sector.

The financial economics concentration explores the role of the finance, insurance, and real estate sectors in the U.S. economy.

Foundations of economics

You’ll start with broad ideas — the operation of markets, inflation, unemployment, and recession — and build your mathematics skills.

Intermediate economic theory

You’ll delve into advanced theories of micro- and macroeconomics, such as the relationship between cost and production and macroeconomic policy debates.

Econ electives

Electives include international finance and trade, monetary economics, and behavioral and environmental economics.

Bloomberg terminals

As a Denison econ student, you’ll have Bloomberg terminals at your fingertips. A rarity at liberal arts colleges, the terminals offer students hands-on skills used by the world’s leading finance professionals and Bloomberg certifications that guarantee a competitive edge in the working world.

Philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) program

PPE is an interdisciplinary course that explores the theoretical foundations of political and economic thought and relates them to contemporary affairs. PPE alums have careers in government, consulting firms, finance, and law.
